Diana Billeter
|
Diana has taught a variety of computer courses on a variety of computer platforms to adults for over 14 years. She has been working at Carl Sandburg College for six years, three, of which, were at the Educational Technology Center. Currently she is the Coordinator of the Business and Computing Technology lab which offers 20 courses to students on an independent basis -- 11 of which are also offered as online courses. Diana has a BS in Business Education and a MS in Instructional Technology and Telecommunications.

Danielle Brush
|
Danielle Brush, a trainer for the Office of Teacher Education Partnerships in the College of Education and Human Services at Western Illinois University, enjoys assisting teachers in integrating technology into their classrooms. Since receiving her Master's Degree in ITT in 1998, she has been working with educators throughout the area, on a variety of computer topics and issues, previously as ROE #26 Technology Coordinator and currently in her position at WIU. She also has taught as adjunct faculty for the ITT and EIS departments at WIU. She loves to see teachers move from a literacy level of learning technology programs to adapting the program for use with students.

Ken Grodjesk
|
Dr. Ken Grodjesk began his educational career teaching Junior High School science in Pekin, Illinois, District # 108. During those 23 years, he integrated technology into his science instruction on a continual basis. Ken served as an adjunct professor at Illinois Central College and for Northern Illinois University while continuing to teach in District # 108. He accepted a position at Monmouth College in the Education Department. While at Monmouth he served as the co-chair of the AV Technology Committee, an Ameritech Teaching Learning Mentor, and the campus liaison to MITC (Midwest Instructional Technology Center). In addition he developed an Electronic Portfolio and made that an integral part of the teacher education program. Currently, Ken is responsible for developing the Teacher Education Program and its technology component at Carl Sandburg College.

Roger Hampton

I have been active in the arena of public education for thirty-four years and have served in a variety of educational positions. Responsibilities at Peoria Heights School District have ranged from classroom teacher to my current position as District Technology Coordinator. I have also conducted many classes, workshops and training seminars throughout the state for a variety of audiences. I greatly enjoy sharing information about how technology utilization within the classroom can engage students and I especially like the quote: "If they don't learn the way I teach, I must teach the way they learn."

Sheryl Hinman |
English and journalism instructor at Galesburg High School. She has worked with Carl Sandburg to construct a website using WebCT. The site containing units used by high school students to develop historical background on classic literature.
In addition, she has worked with several student teams that have developed sites for ThinkQuest, an international competition creating educational websites.

Linda Lee
|
Linda comes to Carl Sandburg College after serving as Vice President of a technical support consulting company for six years. Her background includes over 20 years in the information technology field, mostly associated with the financial industry. Her focus areas at CSC are the Cisco Networking Academy and the Microsoft IT Academy, though her first love is to dig into the hardware with her A+ Certification class. Linda also teaches continuing education classes and professional development seminars for the Center for Agriculture, Business & Industry.
Linda and her husband (Jim) live in Monmouth and are life long residents of Western Illinois

Beverly Naslund
|
Beverly Naslund is the Director of Carl Sandburg College's Bushnell Extension Center. Prior to coming to Carl Sandburg College, Beverly was the Coordinator of the K-12 Professional Development Division of C.A.I.T. (Center for the Application of Information Technologies) at Western Illinois University. Before completing a master's degree in Instructional Technology and Telecommunications at WIU, Beverly was a Jr/Sr high teacher for 25 years and technology coordinator for her school district. At WIU Beverly served as adjunct faculty, co-chair of the Technology Planning Committee for the Teacher Education Program, broadcast coordinator for five satellite broadcasts on technology planning, and co-director of the MASS (Math and Science Solutions) Project-Year One and Year Two, an Eisenhower Professional Development grant that connected math and science teachers in twelve schools throughout Illinois using a variety of technologies.

Larry Schroeder

Larry was a math and computer science instructor at Carl Sandburg College from 1975 to until his retirement in 2002. In his last years with the college, he also served on the web development team plus acted as the Online Technology Coordinator. Currently he is working for the college as a Faculty Technology Consultant and serves as as instructor for the Sandburg Educational Network Initiative.
Larry is an author for Brooks/Cole Thomson Tan WebTutor Advantage WebCT and BlackBoard series on College Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Finite Mathematics, Calculus, and Applied Calculus for Management, Life, and Social Sciences. He is now working on a new math project involving College Algebra, College Trigonometry, and Precalculus for the Brooks/Cole Thomson 2004 and 2005 titles in these areas.

I am the Instructional Network Technician for Carl Sandburg College. I am in charge of setup and maintenance of classroom computers as needed to fill the instructional needs of faculty at the college. I assist faculty in development of instructional material as newer technologies are presented for instruction. As a member of the Helpdesk team, I also serve the students to make sure that they are using our resources to their highest potential and answer any questions they might have and assist in anyway that I can. |

Fred Johnson

I graduated from Western Illinois University in 1972 with a B.S. in Physics. Since then I have worked as a broadcast engineer and taught electronics classes at CSC. For several years prior to coming to CSC as a full time employee, I ran a small business that specialized in VCR repair. My title here at Carl Sandburg College is Coordinator of Teledata Networking Services. My duties include network and telephone system maintenance as well as video production and assisting faculty with some of the technical details of putting instructional materials on the web. I have helped assemble much of the Sandburg.Net web site including the CyberCamp pages. |

Sara McCaw |
Sara McCaw is currently an Intern at Carl Sandburg College as an Instructional Designer. She is entering her senior year at Western Illinois University, where she is working on her Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Technology and Telecommunications. Her main focus for her internship is to assist faculty in implementing effective instructional materials for their online classes. This includes setting up the overall design of the course; creating a variety of learning activities for online learning; and integrating audio/video clips into their WebCT course. She is also creating a website for faculty to refer for assistance with creating their online classes, and tutorials for students to use as a guide through WebCT. In addition to her Internship, she is also producing instructional video clips that will be used for online learning at WIU in the Educational Leadership Department.
