Multiple Intelligences (MI)
& Technology

Roger Hampton

The Multiple Intelligence (MI) theory is based on the belief that we all possess at least eight unique intelligences through which we are able to learn/teach new information. The intelligences can be enhanced with the use of technology. Sara McCaw

Remember when you first brought your computer home, how nice it was to have a fast computer fresh out of the box. Your computer started up quick and your programs started quickly.  Only that as time went on... it felt that it started to slow down, now taking forever to boot up, and you could now have time to "get a cup of coffee" while waiting for things to happen on your computer.  I am going to show you how you can bring speed back to your computer with some basic maintenance tips and with the help of some freeware programs.  I will also show how to combat spy ware and pop-ups.

Now that you have your computer up and running at optimal performance, we will show you how to convert some of your old pictures, videos and music into digital format and preserve them for life. You can use your computer to store some of your old educational presentation materials and use them over and over again.

Then we will venture into using technology effectively in the classroom. Sara McCaw from Western Illinois University will share effective teaching strategies and tips and tricks to get student participation.  She will also talk about the relevance of technology in the classroom and how it can be used to make students effective learners
