System Requirements

The step-by-step tutorials are in HTML. They allow you to print out the steps and study the procedure being taught. The HTML step-by-step tutorials should work in any browser that has pop-up windows enabled.

If you are using Flash, QuickTime, or Media Player tutorials make sure your monitor is set to 1024 by 768, 16 bit or higher color. If necessary adjust your audio and volume controls.

Flash tutorials come in two formats, an Interactive Flash Menu and Flash captioned tutorials. The Flash captioned tutorials also have voice annotated instructions. The Front page for the site is also in Flash. The Flash player installed should be version 6.0 or higher.

The QuickTime Player installed should be version 6.0 or higher and Media Player installed should be version 9.0 or higher.

You can choose the Interactive Flash Menu, QuickTime or Media Player option depending on your preferences or the options installed on your systems. All the screen activity is captured and voiced annotated.

Our content is entirely free for you to view. All you need is the latest free Flash, QuickTime, or Window Media Player installed. You can download the Flash Player from Macromedia, the QuickTime Player from Apple, and Window Media Player from Microsoft.

The project director for Incorporting Virtual Learning into Instruction is Samuel Sudhakar, Vice President of Technology Services, Carl Sandburg College. Content contributors are James Graham, Social Science Chairperson and political science and history instructor; Mary Robson, health and physical education instructor; Larry Schroeder, mathematics instructor; and Cynthia Thompson, accounting and secretarial science instructor. Templates

The following templates are included:

(Note, with some browsers, using the links below, you may need to click the right mouse button and select “Save Target As” from the content menu.)

    WebCT 3.8.1a - WebCT 101 zip file. Upload this to a blank WebCT 3.8 or newer version and restore with current student llist.

    To use the following NetObjects zip files use the Site view, New File from Template option. You can name the project with the same name as the template or create a new name for the project.

    NetObjects 7.0 - The source file template for the Content Pages in the WebCT 101 course. You will need to Local Publish, zip, upload to WebCT and update student view inside of WebCT. If you change the structure of the content you will need to update the path editor in WebCT.

    NetObjects 7.0 - The initial Splash page template for Virtual Learning In Instruction.

    NetObjects 7.0 - The general template file used for developing the lessons in Virtual Learning In Instruction. The Browser Tuneup lesson is used.

    NetObjects 7.0 - A modified/improved version of the template used in NetObjects Multimedia. It contains illustrations for RoboDemo flash files, QuickTime and Media Player, as well as Camtasia flash files.
